Why were a portion of my approved commissions removed?

You are only paid Latium for legitimate referrals (users that have downloaded and added a valid wallet address to their dashboard). By the systems nature a credit is issued to you as soon as a referral registers. We then move all approved commission into pending on a manual basis and move back only legitimate referrals with a valid Latium wallet address to approved status prior to payment being sent. We are working on a system that will show all commissions as pending until approved. This system will make it much less confusing as only your valid referrals will be ever labeled as approved.

Why don’t you pay commission for users that sign up and don’t add a wallet?

The goal of the Latium system is to distribute coins in a more transparent manner than mining. If you refer a user that signs up but never accesses their Latium or profile, they are not a valid Latium user. In marketing terms we are paying based on conversion and conversion takes place when a new user signs up with the intent to join the Latium network. We do not require a user to refer other users in order to gain access or to pay out commissions. This process also helps mitigate fraud by requiring real participation and eliminating pay per registration services and other traffic services that only drive commission to a referrer but do not help grow the Latium network.

How do I mint Latium?

Minting is performed automatically by the Latium wallet only if the wallet is online and connected. There is no additional work or requirements to mint your Latium. Once your Latium has been confirmed, you will start generating “coin age.” Once your coin age exceeds six hours, your coins will be available to mint new blocks. When you mint a block, the coins used will be placed “at stake” and will remain at stake until 48 blocks have minted. Coins that are at stake are unavailable for transfer. After the 48 blocks have been minted, your initial coins along with the interest gained by minting will be available in your balance.

Why should I keep my Latium wallet connected?

By connecting your Latium wallet to the network you increase the network strength. You also gain compounding interest at the fastest rate available. A wallet that only connects intermittently to mint a block misses out on compounding interest at the highest rate available.

How will keeping my wallet online impact my computer?

The computing power required to run the Latium wallet is negligible. The Latium wallet uses roughly 25MB of RAM and 0 CPU unless sending transactions. Installing the Latium wallet on your system will require 60MB of hard drive space and over time could require up to 100MB. Bandwidth usage is very small, as most blocks are less than 3KB.

Why is there a fee charged on my Latium transaction?

##Fees are charged to help protect the network from high volume attacks. With Latium you are typically charged a nominal fee of .01 LAT per transaction. These fees can increase due to the size in KB of the transaction. In addition to the .01 LAT minimum fee, Latium charges .01 LAT per KB transfer.##

What determines the file size of my transaction?

##Transaction size is determined by how the amount of incoming transactions sent in a single outgoing transaction. Example: You are sent 50 incoming individual transactions for 1 LAT each. You then sent 1 outgoing transaction for 50 LAT. The network has to consolidate all 50 incoming transactions in order to process your 1 outgoing transaction. Therefore the file size for the outgoing transaction would be larger than if all 50 LAT had been received in 1 incoming transaction. The Latium network charges .01LAT per KB for any transaction that exceeds a single KB. Most single transactions are less than .3KB therefore an outgoing transaction containing 10 incoming transactions could be charged .03LAT. This charge is rare and will not impact the majority of Latium users.##
